Industry Outlook > Canada bids welcome to Ukrainians: donations and jobs
In late March 2022, the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) announced that it would be donating $10,000 to the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal on behalf of its 11 member associations. In keeping with efforts to provide assistance and support, the RCCAQ is urging its members to join the Government of Canada’s call to action.
In partnership with the Canadian Immigrant Settlement Sector Alliance, the federal government has issued an appeal to Canadian companies seeking to support Ukrainian refugees arriving in Canada.
A webpage for donations has been set up. Links are available for various types of donations, including goods and services, financial aid and support for the WHO’s efforts.
Would you like to support Ukrainian refugees by offering someone a job? The federal government has put in place the webpage Jobs for Ukraine, where you can create an employer file and upload employment opportunities.
Each crisis is accompanied by a wide range of needs; mutual assistance is essential. Sometimes, difficult times offer opportunities. In light of the ongoing labour shortage and the newcomers’ need to work, this is shaping up to be a win-win situation!
