Here's a chance to get to know claims adjusters Marc Thurber and Benjamin Marchand, who will be working closely with the RCCAQ Insurance team to offer you the best coverage on the market.

Marc Thurber, CIP | Claims Adjuster

marc-thurber.jpgMarc joined Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in January 2012. He has worked in the insurance industry since July 1978, having started out as a commercial insurance underwriter and then working as a claims adjuster from January 1980 to 2000. From 2000 to 2012, he worked as an insurance broker while maintaining his adjuster permit.

As an independent adjuster, Marc has handled many types of claims, including general civil liability, product liability, fire/water damage, bodily injury, fraud and pleasure boat claims.


Marc currently focuses on errors & omissions professional liability insurance in Quebec and across Canada geared towards insurance brokers and law firms.

Benjamin Marchand, BBA, CIP | Claims Adjuster

Benjamin_Marchand_Linkedin.jpgBased in Montreal, Benjamin joined Swiss Re Corporate Solutions (Westport) in 2015 as a professional liability adjuster. Prior to that, he worked for a brokerage firm and for one of Canada's leading insurers.

With five years of claims experience, Benjamin focuses on property/liability insurance. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Laval University, in addition to the IIC's Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.

How will they be working together with the RCCAQ Insurance team?

Once a claim is submitted to Swiss Re, a strict handling process begins. Richard Giroux and Nadia Karam are both involved throughout the process with the Swiss Re team to ensure that each claim is dealt with fairly. Richard and Nadia quickly forged a bond of mutual trust with the Swiss Re team, which facilitates swift and effective client service if questions ever do arise about claim-related issues.

What steps are taken to ensure that RCCAQ Insurance clients have a smooth experience?
Ensuring a smooth client experience is the overriding purpose of an insurance policy: that is our pledge to you during the claim process. Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' undertakings in the area of claim management form the cornerstone of our philosophy. If the time comes to submit a claim, RCCAQ Insurance's clients can expect to receive proactive and reactive service, as well as complete transparency.
