For the very first time, the RCCAQ is teaming up with LARAQ for the Junior Broker of Distinction award, which is presented each year to a broker who has achieved an outstanding level of performance.
The goal of the award is to recognize the achievements and initiatives of an insurance broker who has gained distinction at the beginning of his or her career. As in previous years, the award will be presented at the RCCAQ's annual convention.
Needless to say, LARAQ is a natural partner for this award, which ties in with its mandate to promote the next generation of insurance professionals. We are very pleased to be collaborating with LARAQ as we honour an up-and-coming insurance broker!
The deadline for submitting candidacies, by email, is November 1st 2016. The award winner will receive the following:
• A cash prize of $1,000
• A profile in Liaison + magazine
• Participation in the IBAC's Young Brokers Council and Parliament Hill Day in Ottawa in spring 2017 with the RCCAQ delegation
• Invitation to join one of the foursomes honoured at LARAQ's annual golf tournament
To be eligible for the award, candidates must:
• Be no more than 35 years of age
• Be a broker member of the RCCAQ and LARAQ
• Be active professionally and authorized to work by the AMF
• Demonstrate community involvement
• Help promote the brokerage sector
• Play an active role in their personal and professional development
Candidates may not currently hold and may not have held a board member position with the RCCAQ and/or LARAQ in the 12-month period prior to the end of the nomination period.

To boost the number of nominees, all RCCAQ and LARAQ members may submit the names of candidates; candidates may also nominate themselves if they wish. We have also simplified the nomination form, which now takes just a few minutes to complete.
We hope to make the nomination process as simple and as accessible as possible so we can pay tribute to the cream of the crop of the next generation!
