ChAD training: discussions have broken off

posted on April 13, 2016

A few months ago, we notified you that we were in discussions with various organizations about the new continuing education requirement (compliance course worth 2 PDUs) that the Chambre d'assurance de dommages (ChAD) is seeking to impose on all certified representatives.

We have not yet come to an agreement that is satisfactory to the RCCAQ and its members. In our view, ChAD's mandate does not include dispensing mandatory training; its role is to ensure the protection of the public, in particular through its trustee/oversight duties.

Therefore, we reiterate our request that you not take any follow-up action on the letter you received in this regard. You are advised to wait for our instructions. IMPORTANT: no representatives will be penalized in the first year of the two-year cycle.

We will keep you updated on further developments.
