Consumers are not familiar with the GAA's accident central registry

posted on August 30, 2016

According to a recent survey conducted by the Quebec association of auto insurers (Groupement des assureurs automobiles/GAA), consumers are not familiar with the Quebec automobile accident central registry (Fichier central des sinistres automobiles/FCSA). It's our job to bring it to their attention as it's in their best interest!

In light of the crucial advisory role we play with our clients, it is very important for each insurance broker to inform clients about the existence of the FCSA. Consumers often don't know that they have cost-free access to their accident files (which may be corrected if there are any errors).

The FCSA is a database that lists all accidents in which each insured has been involved over the past six years. The database belongs to the AMF and is managed by the GAA.

In order to promote the FCSA, the GAA has produced an explanatory document for consumers (in French only). Please feel free to use this document to promote the FCSA to your clients. The FCSA will be featured in an upcoming article to be posted on the RCCAQ's Facebook page.
