Convention season in Western Canada

Although the RCCAQ's convention will be held in November, the annual gatherings of provincial associations in Western Canada tend to be held in the spring. IBAM (Manitoba), IBABC (BC) and IBAA (Alberta) held their events in May, drawing 500 to 1,200 participants.

The RCCAQ's general manager, Guy Parent, always makes a point of attending the conventions organized by other provincial associations. It's a very effective way of identifying emerging trends across the country while discussing the realities facing other associations.

Mr. Parent is also asked to speak at these events, thus providing an opportunity to bring all participants up to date on the status of the profession in Quebec.
