The advisory committee tasked with analyzing the AMF's draft regulation met on August 22 in Montreal. Some 15 members of the committee, which includes RCCAQ member brokers, experts and representatives, reviewed the various issues with a view to formulating recommendations for submission to the RCCAQ's board.

The committee's constructive exchanges sparked numerous questions and concerns regarding additional regulatory constraints and the enforceability of certain measures. The RCCAQ is 100% focused on this issue and plans to attend the AMF's information session on September 5 in Quebec City. If you would like to take part in person or via webinar, please sign up here.

Once the consultation period is over, the RCCAQ will submit a memorandum to the AMF setting out the board's positions and recommendations aimed at ensuring that the new regulatory framework fosters brokerage sector development and effective consumer protection.
