How about a bike ride on June 16?

posted on May 17, 2016

The RCCAQ came up with an innovative format last year when it added a cycling component to its traditional golf tournament. The experience was such a success that we decided to repeat the format this year (there will be two routes of 50 km and 100 km in length). The cyclists will start from the Club de golf Le Parcours du cerf and will follow the Richelieu river for the longer run, and the St.Laurence River for the shorter one.

Under the direction of Jean Lalumière, who is very involved with the Vélo-Assurance Quebec Club, two bike routes will be available:

  • Molo Fondo (moderate difficulty): A 50 km route designed for recreational/junior-level cyclists. The speed will be moderate and tailored to the participants' needs.
  • Medio Fondo (for more advanced cyclists): A 100 km route designed for more advanced Emphasis will be placed on safety and team spirit with motorcycle escorts, motor vehicles and bike tour leaders.

This is a great way to network with your colleagues since you can chat away during the nearly four-hour tour with all cyclists and not just those in your foursome.

Why not consider switching between golf and cycling from year to year? That way, you'll maximize your presence at our annual event!
