On February 11, RCCAQ insurance, an RCCAQ subsidiary, signed an agreement covering the acquisition of the professional liability insurance portfolios held by the insurance firms owned by Pistagnesi-Doyon Inc., a Quebec City-based underwriting agency.

The transaction will come into effect on May 1, 2022.

Tying in with our growth strategy, this acquisition will strengthen RCCAQ insurance’s leadership role in offering professional liability insurance policy services to brokerage firms. For Pistagnesi-Doyon, this is an opportunity to focus on its core insurance business by devoting more energy to P&C and civil liability products.

Bear in mind that RCCAQ Insurance has offered the professional liability insurance program for over 20 years in partnership with Westport, soon to be renamed Swiss Re Corporate Solutions America Insurance Corporation.

In addition, please note that in 2022, the firms insured under the program are on track to report nearly $4.5 billion in revenues between them, representing some $1.2 billion in liability policies for Westport.

Since RCCAQ insurance is an RCCAQ subsidiary, the revenues generated by its programs are used in part to enhance our member services, as well as to fund various initiatives aimed at defending RCCAQ members’ interests.
