RCCAQ in action > Promoting the brokerage sector: RCCAQ meets with students in Quebec City
Over the past few years, the RCCAQ has played an active part in various career days organized by institutions providing damage insurance training. On March 9, the RCCAQ will be attending an online event organized by O’Sullivan College in Quebec City. This is an opportunity to promote the broker profession, meet motivated job seekers and maybe even fill a position at your brokerage!
If you are an RCCAQ member firm in the Quebec City region and are hoping to fill one or more broker positions, please provide us with a copy of your job postings. We will distribute them to the candidates we meet at the O’Sullivan College event.
If you are interested, please email the details to Marie-Pier Proulx-Lauzon, our marketing and member experience advisor, by March 5. Please make sure that your firm is clearly identified, along with your contact information and the job description (including prerequisites).
Putting together a brokerage job bank
To enhance our presence at trade shows and job fairs, interested brokers are invited to join our team! Traditionally, these get-togethers are a good way to promote the profession with the next generation.
For the time being, in compliance with COVID-19 public health regulations, all job fairs and meetings will be held online. If you are interested in joining us when in-person events resume, please contact Marie-Pier Proulx-Lauzon.
Strong demand for qualified workers
Conducted by the CRAD Coalition, the most recent survey on the insurance industry's workforce needs lists the main in-demand professions for the next three years. Of the 6,000 positions that the industry expects to fill during that period, 44% will be at brokerage firms. This means that the RCCAQ will continue to lobby Quebec's Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Solidarity and to represent its members at student events with a view to promoting professional career opportunities.
