RCCAQ's 2021 convention: a successful hybrid event!

posted on December 7, 2021

After many months of not being able to get together at all, it was good to see everyone at the RCCAQ's 48th annual convention on November 24-25. Under the theme of “Digital transformation, by and for brokers”, this inaugural hybrid event was attended by some 270 people at Montreal's Bonaventure Hotel taking part in the closing event on the first day. Although organizing a “dual event” of this type (on-site activities as well as online) is a more complex undertaking and requires additional resources in every area, the RCCAQ is very pleased with the feedback received thus far. The overall feeling is that of a duty fulfilled: we managed to pull it off!

The 2021 convention featured:

  • Three seminars on the topic of the digital transformation.
  • A networking lounge including the partners' booths, activity areas, networking opportunities and refreshments.
  • The closing event at which the RCCAQ's Technology Award of Distinction and the RCCAQ/LARAQ Young Broker of Distinction Award were handed out; the RCCAQ's new chair for 2021-2022, Jean-Pierre Tardif (Assurancia Groupe Tardif) was introduced to the attendees, together with the new board members, against a backdrop of music and songs by the Jazz Tuxedo Quartet.
  • The insurers' panel is the don't-miss event for insurance industry professionals each year, when representatives of the major insurance companies come together to answer questions on topics of current interest stemming from a survey of the RCCAQ's member firms, as well as answering direct questions from the attendees.
  • In addition, the event was attended by Pierre Fitzgibbon, Quebec's Minister of the Economy and Innovation. A short presentation was made by an industry partner (CPRAD), door prizes were announced, tributes were shared, views were exchanged and a warm welcome was extended to all participants... and much much more!

An in-depth look at the convention activities will be included in the upcoming edition of our online magazine Liaison+. Don't miss out! Be sure to sign up using this link or email us at communications@rccaq.com.

Acknowledgments

The RCCAQ would like to thank all its partners! Thanks to their unflagging support, our 48th annual convention was made possible:

Wawanesa, Economical, Northbridge, The Unique, Intact, Promutuel, Applied, National Bank, Vigilis, Aviva, Primaco, Laurentian Bank, Soluflex, Snap and the Coalition.

The RCCAQ would also like to thank Pierre Fitzgibbon, Quebec's Minister of the Economy and Innovation, for speaking at the convention and interacting directly with the attendees.

In addition, the RCCAQ would like to thank all the convention-goers, i.e. over 300 in-person and online participants. Each attendee greatly contributed to the success of the event, and the RCCAQ team is very grateful for the support and collaboration of everyone involved, particularly in these unique and uncertain times as we are forced to contend with quite restrictive public health measures in our day-to-day lives.

Upcoming survey

A short survey designed to gauge the convention-goers' satisfaction and solicit their feedback will be sent out soon (for in-person attendees, online attendees, full and target package holders). Please keep an eye out for our email and please take a few minutes to complete the survey!

ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
