On July 25, Quebec's Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) issued its draft Regulation respecting damage insurance brokerage. Industry actors who wish to voice their concerns may do so during the AMF's 60-day consultation period. The RCCAQ will be taking part in the consultation to make its members' views known.
The RCCAQ will also be reviewing and evaluating the draft Regulation based on brokers' interests. To that end, an advisory committee made up of RCCAQ members will examine the draft Regulation and will submit its recommendations to the RCCAQ's Board. If necessary, the RCCAQ will call on various experts to help it refine its analysis.
In keeping with its mission to defend brokers' interests, the RCCAQ will be submitting recommendations to the AMF in order to provide an accurate picture of the realities facing brokers and the parameters in which they must operate in order to carry out their work, in particular protecting consumers' financial assets. Needless to say, we will keep you up to date on developments as the various steps are completed.
Feel free to share your comments on the draft regulation and be sure to keep an eye out for our communications in this regard. To get in touch, please email us: membres@rccaq.com
