RCCAQ in action > Regulatory provisions committee: please let us know if you're interested!
Following the adoption of Bill 141 in June 2018, work is underway to ensure the smooth implementation of the new regulatory provisions. As with online insurance sales, the RCCAQ would like to set up an advisory committee made up of members tasked with looking at the regulations governing provisions of specific concern to brokerage firms.
Measures governing the number of insurers operating in the area of personal insurance, consumer disclosure rules and limitations on property rights will all be discussed.
Since these provisions are slated to come into effect in December 2019, the RCCAQ would like to stay ahead of the game by creating a new advisory committee designed to complement the board's deliberations on the draft regulations that the AMF will be submitting.
The number of seats available on the committee is limited. If you would like to get involved with the RCCAQ and its various initiatives, please confirm your interest by emailing our director of communications and public affairs, Typhaine Letertre (tletertre@rccaq.com), before December 19.
Based on the applications received, we will strive to put in place a committee representing all RCCAQ members (taking into account firm size, region, business model, etc.). The members will be finalized in January so the committee can meet as soon as the draft regulations are made public.
