Some 600 people gathered at the Lévis Convention Centre on May 26 for the 11th edition of Rendez-Vous Québec, a networking activity organized by the Institut d’assurance.
This must-attend event for the insurance industry attracted an array of professionals, including brokers, insurers and wholesalers. Representing the next generation, students were also on hand.
The RCCAQ, represented by Marie-Pier Proulx-Lauzon, marketing and member experience advisor, and Bertrand Rouault, business development and training director, staffed a human resources booth aimed at promoting and advancing the profession. They chatted with some 40 students interested in finding out more about the career options in the insurance sector.
The students also took the opportunity to discuss potential careers with recruiters from various firms. Ongoing efforts are needed to understand the realities facing student jobseekers. Needless to say, the labour shortage has not spared the brokerage sector.
This event also marked the in-person return of the RCCAQ Training team. The wide-ranging discussions were beneficial, and the team is already planning to embark on a tour of the province. This will provide an ideal opportunity to continue discussions with students at job fairs and career days.
Promoting and advancing the profession is part of the RCCAQ’s mission. In the coming weeks, months and years, we intend to redouble our efforts to attract the new generation of brokers by means of various activities.
