2019 RCCAQ Technology Award of Distinction

The inaugural edition of the Technology Award of Distinction is now up and running! This contest is designed to recognize brokerage firms' achievements in the area of technology. In addition to being featured in Liaison +, the winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000 and a ticket to the C2 Montreal event. Please see below for information on the criteria for applying for this new award, which is sponsored by National Bank of Canada and will be presented at the RCCAQ's convention in November.

The Technology Award of Distinction is presented to an RCCAQ member firm that has used or created a technological innovation that is having a significant impact on its own efficiency, client experience and, in broader terms, on the brokerage sector itself.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE TECHNOLOGY AWARD OF DISTINCTION, THE FIRM OR THE FIRM'S REPRESENTATIVE:

  • Must be an RCCAQ member.
  • The firm's representative must not hold a position on the RCCAQ's board of directors and/or on its technology committee, either currently or within the 12-month period preceding the end of the nomination period.
  • Must have demonstrated a marked interest in technological innovation.
  • Must have a track record of concrete achievements in the area of technological innovation having a significant impact on one or more of the following:

- Firm's managerial efficiency

- Improved client experience

- Advertising, marketing, social networks

- Influence on brokerage sector partners (suppliers, insurers, etc.)
 

NOMINATIONS MUST BE FILED ELECTRONICALLY BEFORE OCTOBER 2, 2019

To be considered complete, each nomination file must include the following:

- The information form for the firm.

- A presentation of the project, including answers to the questions indicated at the end of the form.

- Any relevant computer-related materials (screenshots, media articles, WeTransfer files, links, etc.) in support of the application.

- The firm's logo.

  • In October, a pre-selection committee will review the nominations received and will choose up to three finalists.
  • During the week of October 14, The Informer will publish the name and logo of the selected firms.
  • A 30-minute project presentation with the finalists (20 minutes = presentation, 10 minutes = Q&A with the jury) will be held on November 12 at the Fairmont Château Frontenac Hotel in Quebec City.
  • The nominees will be asked to demonstrate their initiatives; equipment will be available (screen, computer).
  • The winner of the Technology Award of Distinction will be unveiled at the convention banquet on Wednesday, November 13 at the Fairmont Château Frontenac Hotel.
