Brokerage sector: high-tech advances to watch out for

Capitalizing on favourable technological conditions in the insurance sector, a number of projects are being carried out to assess solutions to connectivity problems between insurers and the broker channel. Currently, the data exchange model developed by IBAC and CSIO, which includes a library of reusable data services accessible to suppliers of brokerage management systems (BMS) and insurers, is the best example.
In a recent article, Canadian Underwriter magazine approached the issue from the perspective of commercial insurance in an article that envisions a potential revolution.
Meanwhile, our technology committee is hard at work, having recently submitted a series of recommendations to the RCCAQ's board. The next edition of Liaison will once again touch on the various goals and initiatives we are pursuing.
