RCCAQ technology committee meets with insurers

posted on December 6, 2018

On December 3-4, the RCCAQ's technology committee, chaired by Jean Bilodeau, met with the representatives of various insurance companies and listened to their perspectives on technological development.

During the two-day meeting, representatives of Northbridge, Economical, Optimum, L'Unique, Aviva and Promutuel shared their outlooks and discussed topics of current concern. The following technology-related issues were discussed:

  • The AMF's draft regulations (currently under study) on alternative distribution models (in particular, online insurance sales).
  • How to facilitate brokers' operations in order to improve efficiency and the client experience.
  • Development of the brokerage sector and medium-term technology outlook for the industry.

Meetings will be held with other insurers in the coming weeks to complete this fact-finding mission. A complete report will be issued at a later late.

This new step in the efforts of the RCCAQ's technology committee complements various initiatives geared towards the main suppliers, as well as the CSIO, IBAC and IBAO. In the coming months, the committee will be examining all information received and will issue a number of recommendations. Please keep an eye out for our upcoming communications.
