Since brokers have access to multiple insurance companies, they can offer coverage tailored choix.jpgto the needs of their insureds. In contrast, an insurance agent works for a single company. This difference is well known in the industry—but is it in the minds of consumers?

It appears that misinformation about the work that professional insurance brokers do is harming the image that consumers have of them.
 
Brokers would do well to emphasize their advisory role—their key source of value added— in their communications with clients.

During an interview with the Journal de l'assurance, a number of brokers discussed the importance of taking every opportunity to remind clients of the value added that comes from advisory services.
