The RCCAQ Insurance team will be visiting brokerage firms around Quebec and conducting training on potential litigation relating to professional liability. Participants who complete this training will be eligible for 1 professional development unit (PDU) in compliance and 2 PDUs in insurance techniques—all without having to leave the office!

General objective

Participants who complete this training will come away with new insights into potential litigation relating to professional liability. They will also have a better grasp of how the Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services is applied and the importance of complying with brokers' code of ethics.

Specific objectives

• Communicate a series of practical and concrete techniques aimed at preventing or limiting the number of errors and omissions claims.
• Raise awareness of the regulatory framework (Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services, code of ethics, etc.) and new trends involving claims against brokerage firms and brokers.
• Raise awareness of the tools and resources available to brokerage firm managers and employees aimed at limiting the number of errors and omissions claims. Encourage participants to reflect on their work methods.

Running time: three hours.
