ChAD and the RCCAQ team up to offer brokers high-quality training activities

affiché le 3 novembre 2020

Earlier this year, Quebec’s Chamber of Damage Insurance (ChAD) joined the RCCAQ’s network of training partners. This partnership will offer both organizations an opportunity to pool their expertise while offering certified professionals a range of courses focusing on compliance, cybersecurity and human resources.

“We are pleased to be combining our expertise. This will allow brokers to hone their skills,” said Éric Manseau, executive director of the RCCAQ. “ChAD is dedicated to helping brokers to foster their professional development, as is the RCCAQ’s team.”

“ChAD is working actively to develop a value-added partnership approach for certified professionals. We are grateful for our close collaboration with the RCCAQ, which is aimed at offering brokers high-quality training activities that meet their needs. As the key to maintaining and improving professional skills, training is enhanced when we pool our respective areas of expertise,” said Anne-Marie Poitras, president and CEO of ChAD.

Since October 21, a 15-minute online survey has been emailed to certified professionals, employers and course providers. ChAD’s goal is to listen to certified professionals and to work closely with industry partners with a view to taking the necessary steps to enhance the overall professional development course offer, along with ChAD’s mechanisms for managing training requirements. All brokers are encouraged to complete this survey.

Broker training offered in collaboration with ChAD

Compliance: ChAD offers a new training course on contract renewal

During the RCCAQ’s convention (November 13 at 10:00 AM), the ChAD will be offering a new online training activity in real time, focusing on contract renewal (1 PDU in the area of compliance). Entitled Hints and advice for renewing contracts in 3 steps, the course will be given by Jannick Desforges, director of ChAD’s Corporate Affairs, Training and Compliance Department, who will also answer brokers’ questions on the obligations they face when renewing insurance contracts. You are encouraged to take part by signing up for the “1 seminar” convention package.

Human resources: training on managing telework teams

Last spring, ChAD and the RCCAQ organized a webinar for damage insurance managers aimed at providing them with practical tools for managing remote teams. Entitled Managing telework teams, this seven-hour course was geared towards managers, supervisors and owners of brokerage firms, as well as claims adjusters.

Cybersecurity: raising awareness of information security

The RCCAQ also teamed up with ChAD to offer the new course entitled Raising awareness of information security. Made up of 12 short capsules, this activity provided over 200 certified damage insurance brokers with an opportunity to earn 2 PDUs while raising awareness of best practices in the area of technology security.
