Beginning on February 1, 2022, the RCCAQ training team will be back in service and will be offering a broad array of activities so you can keep on honing your skills. Discover and make the most of all the training opportunities available in February!

Business continuity plans – February 1 (1:30-2:30PM)

Upon completion of this one-hour session, participants will have a basic knowledge of the four objectives of a business continuity plan (BCP) and will be able to answer the question, “What is the purpose of a BCP?” It should be noted that not having a BCP in place is one of the Top 10 issues observed during official inspections.

This activity is worth 1 professional development unit (PDU) in the area of compliance. The fee is $40 for RCCAQ members and $50 for non-members. The instructor will be Marc Nadeau. Click here to register.

 

The art of delegating – February 3 (9:00-10:30AM)

This new 90-minute activity will be run by the Soluflex team. Participants will be awarded 1.5 PDUs in the area of administration. Geared towards insurance managers, the session will cover the following topics:

  • Understanding the impact of a good HR strategy on managers’ quality of life.
  • Understanding the four levels of responsibility and the importance of delegation.
  • Understanding delegation-related obstacles and how to overcome them.
  • Learning to use the “delegation checklist” tool.

Business cybersecurity and cyberrisk insurance – February 8 (1:30-4:30PM)

This three-hour session will give participants a clearer understanding of the basics of business cybersecurity and how cyberrisk insurance can complement a company’s risk management strategy. This activity will also include an overview of how this insurance product has evolved over time. Participants will gain insight into the components of insurance cyberrisk and will be able to identify which of their clients are most likely to be interested in this type of coverage.

This activity is worth 3 PDUs in the area of insurance techniques. The instructor will be Marc Lebrun of CyberSwat. This is one of our most popular activities, so be sure to sign up without delay!

 

Chatbot: learning and training tool – February 15 (9:00-11:00AM)

Are you familiar with the chatbot initiative? If not, be sure to sign up today!

Using natural language processing, this AI tool allows brokers to ask questions about insurance matters in real time. The goals are straightforward: to automate procedures and processes, save time and improve access to information. The idea to develop this project in the insurance brokerage sector stems from collaboration between RCCAQ and the insurtech firm ProNavigator. Implementation was made possible thanks to the financial support of Quebec’s French language office (OQLF). The instructor will be Bertrand Rouault, the RCCAQ’s Business Development Director. The activity is worth 2 PDUs in the area of professional development.

 

Condo reform – February 17 (9:00AM-noon)

This training activity focuses on changes to Quebec’s Civil Code and their impacts on P&C insurance. Participants will be asked to reflect on these impacts on the condo sector and will gain insight into the relationship between the insurance taken out by the syndicat and that taken out by condo residents. This activity will enable brokers to give their clients better advice and information.
