AGM 2021: the new chair takes pride in the RCCAQ and is attuned to members' concerns

posted on 8:25 AM, December 16, 2021

On the eve of its 48th annual convention, the RCCAQ held its annual general meeting (AGM). For the second year in a row, a 100% hybrid format was used.

On November 23, 2021, a new group was confirmed as members of the RCCAQ's 2021-2022 board. A number of directors left the board after providing faithful service to the organization. In addition, a new chair took office!

Congres_2021/Diapositive1.JPGIn accordance with section 4.11 of the RCCAQ's bylaws, no candidacy applications were received during the eligibility period for
board member positions in regions 2 or 5. Now that the AGM has taken place, the board may designate individuals to fill these vacancies. Please note that two board positions are still vacant.

If you are an RCCAQ member and are interested in serving on the board, please let us know!

THANK YOU to two outgoing board members!

This year, we bid farewell to two board members.

Sylvain Turgeon decided not to seek a other mandate. After serving for one year as chair (2019-2020), he completed another as outgoing chair (2020-2021). The RCCAQ paid tribute to Mr. Turgeon's commitment by presenting him with a commemorative plaque during the convention's closing event.

Thanks, Sylvain!

After eight years, Michel Auger had to leave his position as board member since he had completed the maximum period of service set out in the RCCAQ's bylaws. Our organization will be losing the expertise of an experienced secretary/treasurer, although he assures us that he will be available to advise the new secretary/treasurer as Yann Desjardins takes over the reins. We are deeply grateful to Mr. Auger! He was also presented with a commemorative plaque during the convention's closing event.

Thank you, Michel!

NEW CHAIR!

The RCCAQ took a moment to thank outgoing chair Mathieu Brunet, who led the organization in 2020-2021. Needless to say, his term in office was marked by challenges of all shapes and sizes! His hard work was acknowledged during the convention's closing event when he was presented with a Golden Bipper, in keeping with tradition, as well as a commemorative plaque.

Thank you, Mathieu!
