Summer internships

affiché le 12 avril 2019

The shortage of qualified labour is a major issue for brokerage firms. Potential solutions aimed at bringing in new employees include work/study programs.

These programs give students hands-on experience during paid summer internships. In addition, students who have completed their coursework and passed their exams can obtain their broker permits straight away (work/study internships are equivalent to the traditional "probationary periods").

Work/study programs enable brokerage firms to hire insurance students who are "workplace-ready" as soon as they have obtained their AMF internship permits. Brokerages may also qualify for tax credits designed to facilitate the hiring of new employees.

Not all institutions of higher learning offer these programs; in addition, a number of conditions must be met beforehand. Please visit the websites of Montmorency College and the provincial government for further information, or contact Charlotte Leyre (450-674-6258, ext. 227).
