The illegal practices reported by the RCCAQ did not go unheard. On February 10, the AMF announced that fines totalling $92,500 had been imposed on eight auto dealerships.

According to the AMF's press release, the following auto dealerships were penalized:

- Magog Toyota (2709970 Canada Inc.) was fined $17,500.
- Eastern Townships Volkswagen (Sherbrooke Automobiles Inc.) was fined $15,000.
- Blainville Honda (2848-7403 Quebec Inc.) was fined $10,000.
- Lanaudière Hyundai (2622-3412 Quebec Inc.) was fined $7,500.
- Riendeau Hyundai (2845-6630 Quebec Inc.) was fined $7,500.

As regards the following dealerships, the administrative penalty also takes into account irregularities relating to the offer of replacement insurance to certain clients, as the dealerships failed to adequately describe the coverage.

- Sherbrooke Hyundai (Garage Renaud Fortier Inc.) was fined $12,500.
- Terrebonne Honda (Automobiles Donald Brassard Inc.) was fined $11,250.
- Vaudreuil Hyundai (4432231 Canada Inc.) was fined $11,250.
