In Focus > Bill 96: the RCCAQ's voice will make its voice heard
![]() |
After an RCCAQ sub-committee reviewed Bill 96 concerning French, Quebec's official and common language, a communiqué was sent out detailing the insurance industry's concerns, fears and other issues surrounding the requirement that all clients, including those in the commercial sector, must initially be provided with a French-language version of any contract.
As mentioned in a recent article, the RCCAQ recognizes that protecting and promoting the French language in Quebec is essential. However, this must be done while minimizing impacts on local businesses.
Discussions are scheduled with Quebec government officials to provide more detailed information in writing and to come up with viable solutions for the industry.
