RCCAQ in action > Chairman's message
On the one hand, we are pleased to note that our members feel so strongly about this issue. Indeed, the response rate demonstrates the vibrancy of our association.
On the other hand, in seeking to rapidly verify the state of play (some have said clumsily), we touched a nerve. Our attempt at consultation left few people indifferent; we are aware of that fact and we regret the impact.
The entire insurance industry is undergoing a transformation. The waves of mergers and acquisitions extend even beyond brokerage firms; they are also affecting insurance companies. Due to the speed of the Internet, fuelled by mobile communications and social media, we realize that things are changing faster than ever before, even in the insurance sector. We must all adapt to these changes.
As RCCAQ chairman, I am committed to contributing to industry modernization on an ongoing basis. To that end, we need to consult with brokers from time to time to faithfully represent their interests. In the future, however, we will work more carefully not to stir up an already turbulent situation.
