Hitting the road

posted on May 3, 2017

The RCCAQ strives to make your voices heard from one end of the country to the other! Over the past little while, we have discussed issues of concern to brokers in various presentations to key industry actors and elected officials. Here is a summary of some of the stops we've made.

IBAM convention

A-M.jpgIn late April, the RCCAQ attended the annual convention of our sister association in Manitoba (IBAM). RCCAQ chair Kathleen Ann Rake spoke at the event and outlined the major issues on which the RCCAQ is currently working, ranging from Bill 188 to the publication consultation process and the Bank Act. All of these issues could have major impacts on brokerage firms.

Rendez-Vous Quebec City

On April 27, we took part in the Rendez-Vous Quebec City event, organized in association with the IADQ and the Quebec City regional committee. Outgoing RCCAQ chair Patrick Bouchard went over various initiatives on which the RCCAQ is working. We also met with insurance students from around the region, as well as industry actors at the reception later that evening.

Raising your concerns with elected officials

LRS.jpgOn May 1, Kathleen Ann Rake attended a meeting of elected officials organized by the MNA for Laval-des-Rapides, Saul Polo. At the event, Ms. Rake spoke with Quebec's finance minister, Carlos J. Leitão, about various threats that could affect our industry.

As you have no doubt noticed, we seize every opportunity we can to meet with key industry actors and government representatives! We will continue to do so in order to defend your interests and preserve your firms' financial health.
