Since the beginning of the year, RCCAQ members have been issued agency contacts by various insurers. Concerned by the contents of these contracts, the RCCAQ stepped in and drew up a standard contract that has prompted discussions among our members; we also proposed some adjustments to facilitate things for brokers (the wording of the insurers' contracts was often convoluted and hard to follow).
The RCCAQ encourages all insurers to work from our standard document to ensure that the tools available to brokers will enable them to fulfil their role as effectively as possible.
We recently submitted this model agency contract to Echelon Insurance. Our objective was once again to make sure that the brokers working with this company have a clear document that will allow them to work efficiently.
