Technosphere > Technology committee news
Despite the ongoing crisis, the RCCAQ's technology committee has entered its second phase and held a videoconference meeting on April 14. It should be noted that this committee is mandated by the RCCAQ's board and was formed in May 2018.
As part of the committee's efforts to support firms' digital transition and boost brokers' performance, it has taken up various issues, including connectivity improvements (Data Exchange) spearheaded by IBAC, and the chatbot project.
Chatbot: major roll-out
Chatbot, an artificial intelligence platform developed by the insurtech company ProNavigator, will provide instant answers to brokers' questions about underwriting and insurance products. This virtual assistant, previously geared towards the anglophone market, will now be available in French through the support of the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF). The RCCAQ is pleased to see the OQLF supporting brokers during their digital transition. In addition to addressing technological concerns, the OQLF has underscored the importance of French-language initiatives. For tool testing and refinement purposes, selected member firms began participating in the pilot phase in February 2020. This AI platform aims to boost users' productivity by 15%.
