COVID-19: end of mandatory working from home

posted on 10:38 AM, February 14, 2022

During a press conference on February 8, the Quebec government announced a relaxation of the current public health measures and a gradual deconfinement plan extending until mid-March 2022.

As Quebec premier François Legault noted, “We will have to learn to live with the virus. That means that each of us as individuals must assess the risks we face.”

Accordingly, effective February 28, working from home will no longer be mandatory. The provincial government does recommend, however, that businesses adopt a hybrid model. All employers will be responsible for making the best possible decision for their company while demonstrating flexibility towards employees and listening to their concerns.

The government is counting on Quebecers’ good judgment when it comes to applying public health rules.
