Technosphere > Spotlight on the RCCAQ's Technology Committee
Created in May 2018 by the RCCAQ's Board of Directors, the Technology Committee is a deliberative body as well as a driver of cutting-edge solutions. Its mission is to rally RCCAQ members around joint initiatives, in addition to serving as an accelerator enabling the insurance brokerage sector to develop and implement its own innovative high-tech solutions.
Goals
Given the ever-faster pace of technological change, the digital transition has become one of the main issues facing the brokerage sector—and one of the RCCAQ's top priorities. With that in mind, the Technology Committee is pursuing the following goals:
Activities
Since its creation, the Technology Committee has undertaken a number of initiatives in the area of new technologies, in addition to holding meetings with representatives of insurers and service providers. Various collaborations have been launched, most notably with ProNavigator, an insurtech firm, with a view to setting up an AI project aimed at enhancing the client experience and facilitating brokers' day-to-day activities (chatbot). The Committee members also work closely with CSIO and IBAC on specific projects, including IBAC's DataExchange, which seeks to improve connectivity.
Upcoming initiatives
The Technology Committee is committed to boosting brokers' efficiency and optimizing work processes with a view to providing consumers with the very best experience. To that end, the Committee has teamed up with the firm Sphere AI to identify and prioritize promising projects for the RCCAQ. A roadmap is currently being drawn up and will be unveiled in the near future. In parallel, the Technology Committee is putting mechanisms in place aimed at:
Needless to say, the RCCAQ will be lobbying the provincial government and its agencies as it continues to emphasize the need to financially support brokerage firms during their digital transformation.
Committee members
The Technology Committee's 10 members have a keen interest in new technologies and innovation. They decided to join forces and pool their knowledge to facilitate the collective digital transition. At its bimonthly meetings, the Committee defines and recommends high-priority technology-related RCCAQ action areas with a view to enhancing brokers' overall effectiveness.
In particular, the Technology Committee seeks to involve influential industry stakeholders in collective projects aimed at creating and proposing new technologies that will give fresh momentum to RCCAQ members' digital transformation.
