Quebec's finance ministry will be consulting with individuals who would like to express their opinions on enhancements to the rules governing condo insurance in Quebec. The consultation process, which was launched on July 14, will end on August 29. Useful information in this regard is provided below.

Legislative amendments

Quebec's finance ministry takes the view that two major guiding principles should underpin the rules governing condo insurance:

- Maintaining building integrity is the responsibility of the condo association.

- The individual co-owners should benefit from clear insurance rules.

To clarify these principles, the government is proposing the following legislative amendments.
