Latest News > IBAC's Parliament Hill Day
A delegation of RCCAQ representatives and brokers from other provincial associations met with elected officials in Ottawa on June 2 to raise awareness of consumer protection.
The RCCAQ took the opportunity to address issues of concerns to insurance brokers, including Bank Act is slated for review in 2017; tax impacts of parent-to-child business transfers, etc. These issues all have a direct impact on brokers' day-to-day work and on the services offered to clients.
Meetings with Conservative, Liberal and NDP MPs were held as part of Parliament Hill Day. Twitter users covered the proceedings in real time using the hashtag #IBACHILLDAY.
The RCCAQ hopes to continue these discussions with our federal representatives with a view to protecting consumers and making sure that brokers' voices are heard.
